DON'T QUIT!

Jake is a tried and true fitness authority, who is known for his exceptional motivational abilities and his instinctive talent of making the task of keeping fit seem simple and fun. Growing up in Long Island, New York, Jake was an overweight kid who had a terrible stutter. It was overcoming these adversities that entrenched his new philosophy of living a fit lifestyle, adopting his personal lifelong motto "Don't Quit!".
CREATING AN INDUSTRY
Jake created the industry of personal fitness training and was the first nationally recognized fitness trainer. He was featured in newspapers, magazines and was the "coffee talk" of Beverly Hills Cafes. Jake's distinguished client list included Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, Bette Midler, Michael J. Fox, Priscilla Presley, Madonna, George Lucas and many others. His fee of $200 per session created a national buzz, and spawned an industry of fitness professionals to follow his lucrative and unique method of getting people into shape.
MAJOR LEAGUE LACROSSE

Jake has always made his passions his business, first fitness and then lacrosse. Like most lacrosse fans and players, he always kept his love for the game. Fortunately for him and young men today who want to play lacrosse professionally, Jake's success has allowed him to make his dream a reality with the creation of Major League Lacrosse (MLL). After three years of tireless planning, June 7, 2001, marked the on-set of the inaugural season of professional outdoor lacrosse. MLL has now completed six successful seasons and is poised to begin the seventh in the Spring of 2007.
TV BY JAKE
Since then, Jake has appeared in several major motion pictures, has starred in his own sitcom, "Big Brother Jake", and has hosted his own "Body by Jake" television shows. This soon led to the creation of "Exercise TV", the world's only video-on-demand fitness television network. Jake has also authored several books, and has lectured to corporations and Universities around the country. As Chairman of Body by Jake Global, his company provides products, programming and inspiration to millions of Americans each year.
AN ONGOING COMMITMENT

Jake continues to demonstrate his philanthropic support of children's and educational organizations as well as the arts. In 1998, he founded the DON'T QUIT! Foundation. The foundation's goal is to support and educate adolescents about the value of physical fitness by establishing DON'T QUIT! fitness centers in inner city middle and high schools. The foundation is proud of the 32 centers already dedicated in cities throughout the country. In addition, he funded a program for screenwriters, known as the Jake Steinfeld Endowment for the Arts at Regent University, and is a founding member of the National Playwright Awards.
THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ON PHYSICAL FITNESS AND SPORTS
In November 2005, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger named Jake to chair the California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Jake has joined forces with other sports celebrities and legends that have been assembled to shine a light on the remarkable things everyday Californians are doing to promote physical activity in their schools and communities. Governor Schwarzenegger recognizes Jake as a worldwide icon in the fitness industry and realizes his energy and don't-quit attitude will be an inspiration for all Californians.
